As we come to the close of Holy Week, we planned an activity that was a really awesome representation of of Jesus after he died on the cross and was laid in the tomb.
First we read the passage of John 19.
After reading, we began to make the Resurrection Rolls.  What a great Catholic Identity activity!
We gave each student a cresent roll, and a marshmallow.  The marshmallow represented Jesus.  After Jesus was taken down from the cross, they prepare him for the tomb (oven)   They rolled the marshmallow in melted butter and cinnamon sugar, ( the oil and spices that were used to prepare the body)
They then wrapped the body in the linen, ( crescent roll) we put on a cookie sheet and bake in the oven according to the directions.  When the rolls come out of the oven, the marshmallow magically disappears, which is Jesus rising from the dead!  Truly a visual for the kids!

This is the tasty end result.  No more marshmallow, JESUS HAS RISEN!!

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!!
