Moving right along in Science, we are now studying the Respiratory System.
Its amazing how we can find activities to represent what the respiratory system is like.    In the latest lab, we put together a water bottle and balloon to show how the lungs inhale and exhale air.
This actually did work!  When my students squeezed the bottle, that was the exhale and the balloon shriveled up, losing all air.  When they let go of the bottle, the air came back into the straw, blowing up the balloon.  It was so cool!!
Easy peesy activity that anyone can do!

Seamus and Matt squeeze as hard as they can to exhale....

Inhaling makes the balloon blow up

Look!  This is the balloon blown up!
