 Saturday, June 1st

We as teachers always seem to try to fit Geometry in at the end of the year!  Although I seem to fly through it, I wanted to make it fun.  I used this idea when I was teaching 6th grade and I knew it would be even better here in 3rd grade.  After teaching polygons, I brought in supplies for the students to make their own polygons.  mini marshmallows and pretzel sticks.  You couldn't beat this math class!  I had them construct each specific polygons.  When we were all done, they got to eat!! Yum!!
Ps..~~  I did find out that it is much easier to use toothpicks instead of pretzel sticks. The idea was good, but the marsh mallows kept breaking.
