Our classroom thankful tree
I came across this idea a few years back and changed it up a bit over the years. I felt that it was important for my students to know what they are thankful for. I also wanted them to be able to visually share with others who come into our room what they were thankful for. To make this tree, I collected branches from outside. I put some un-popped popcorn into a vase and added the branches. I picked branches that had a lot of little branches off the bigger ones. I bought scrapbook paper in fall colors and cut out shapes of leaves. Each student picked a leaf and wrote down 2 things that they were really thankful for. Someone seems to want to add to it everyday and since had to go buy more paper for leaves. I like this idea so much, that I am doing it at home with my family for Thanksgiving. It is turning out to be a nice centerpiece.
