This week we have been learning about time to the minutes and elapsed time.
To end our mini unit, we decided to make these cute clocks.
The unique thing about these clocks is that on the top, you see a regular clock face.
When you lift the tabs at each number, the underneath shows the time counting by 5's.
This way, my students can see the relationship between the actual clock numbers, and how you count by 5's for a faster, easier way to count the minutes.
The one problem I did run into was matching the clock number up with the counting by 5 number on the second paper plate. I let the kids do it and there were quite a bit of wasted plates.
My suggestion would be to have an aide help or number the plates yourself ahead
of time. Just a thought! :-))
