Thursday, January 17th

In honor of MLK Day, I had my students make 'unique' hands.  I had them make these hands after we had a mini lesson on who MLK was and why he is significant in history.  I decided to have them trace their own hands, color them with some bright vivid colors and draw something unique on them, that would be unique to them.  Some of the kids put their own initials, or ballet slippers, or even a music note.  Each hand told something about the child that made it.   I then put the hands in a circular shape, so that they would all be somewhat visible. They are hanging outside of our classroom with mini essays that the students wrote on their dream for the world.
