August 28, 2013

Yup!  I think the summer flew by!! While driving to school today for our Organizational day, I was thinking,  Where did it go? I have been back and forth to school for the past few weeks getting ready for my new batch of students.  As much as I like the summers off, I get pretty excited about meeting my new students and just getting back into a routine!

Well, the room is ready, postcards are sent,  nametags are assigned, books are on desks, new items are added and papers are run off.   Now I am just waiting for my loVe BugS!

I thought I would share this poem with fellow teachers.  I post it on my teacher web page and also here, on The Feisty Classroom.  Hope you enjoy it!

Twas the night before school started,
When all through the town,
The parents were cheering.
It was a riotous sound!
By eight, kids were washed,
And tucked into bed...
When memories of homework...filled them with dread!

New pencils, new folders, new notebooks too!
New teachers, new friends...their anxiety grew!
The parents just giggled when they learned of this fright...
And shouted upstairs......
GO TO BED, IT'S A SCHOOL NIGHT!!
